HOW WE WORK


We purchase beaten down houses in a carefully pre-selected area at low cost, and renovate them using recycled construction materials such as hardwood floors, bricks, windows, doors, and other recycled or natural materials. Whenever possible, we preserve original architectural characteristics, and use sustainable building practices, trying to minimize the impact of the surrounding area. Some of our sustainable practices include:

  • Reducing water consumption by using native landscaping and low flow water fixtures, among other solutions;

  • Reducing energy consumption with energy savings solutions, such as LED lights, big windows, proper ventilation, and sky-stream wind turbines, among others;

  • Using certified wood;

  • Using less toxic or toxic free and low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) products;

  • Building within walking distance to essential services;

  • Building near alternative transportation;

  • Providing space for storage and collection of recyclables.

Wallbros is committed to support local independent professionals with remodeling experience. It hires and directly manages painters, plumbers, landscapers, electricians, and handymen in the area, allowing better financial conditions for both parties.

Daniela Farina was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has over 23 years experience in the construction business.

Even though she was raised in Brazil, she spent her childhood in an Italian environment because of her family and school, Dante Alighieri, where she developed her passion for design, music and classical architecture.

Daniela graduated in Public Relations and started her professional life in the fashion business. She began in retail, where she got her first managing position, and went on to product designing and production.

Her experience in the construction business began in 1989, when she remodeled her first apartment: a beaten down penthouse in a wonderful location, which looked exceptional after her work was complete. The result increased the initial investment.
Daniela used her sensibility to see the hidden beauty behind the old-fashioned architecture.

After the penthouse project, she created Wallbros do Brazil developing over 20 projects of houses and apartments in Sao Paulo, in the countryside and by the sea, sometimes building from scratch.

Daniela also developed a reliable team of professionals, including architects, landscapers, contractors, handymen, housekeepers, realtors, lawyers, and consultants.

With the opportunity to live the US, and with the purchase of a property there, she created Wallbros USA. A company made to explore and invest in the US, with the same niche occupied by Wallbros do Brasil in Brazil.

SERGIO CASTRO


Sergio Castro was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has 25 years of experience in the financial market and a passion for the construction business.

He was raised in a farm helping his father, a civil engineer, run the family business.
While assisting and observing his father plan and build houses, stables, dams, roads and much more, Sergio developed a passion for planning and improvising, especially since the town was far and resources were scarce.

Sergio moved to Sao Paulo to finish high school, and went on to study civil engineering at Universidade Mackenzie. He interned in some construction companies but in 1989 was snatched by the financial market when he was offered his first job at the trading floor of BMF, the São Paulo stock exchange. From then on he had a long and successful career in the financial market.

With his partner and brother-in-law he developed a pioneering business in Brazil, where they built from scratch a brokerage company called Action DTVM that deals with currency at a retail level. It has over 55 branches in airports, shopping malls, and hotels; and 800 employees. Action DTVM was sold to a bank in 2008. Sergio went on to work for this bank, in an executive position for another 4 years. In 2012, he helped a second bank structure their currency exchange operations, and retired from the financial market to work as a consultant.

Sergio then began working at Wallbros do Brasil, structuring the company, helping Daniela develop new projects, and taking care of legal and financial matters. He is also now partner and CFO of Wallbros USA.
